Steps to Remodel Your Pool
1. Preparation and Pool Draining
The remodeling process begins with safely draining your pool. Water is directed to the sewer cleanout or street in strict compliance with local city laws and regulations. This ensures an environmentally responsible approach while preparing the pool for the next steps.
2. Interior Chip-Out and Tile Removal
Once the pool is fully drained, our team uses specialized tools such as jackhammers and air chisels to carefully chip out the existing interior surface. If you’ve opted for new tile and coping, the existing tile and coping will also be removed during this phase. This step is critical to creating a clean slate for your pool’s new surface.
3. Interior Surface Application
The application of your chosen interior surface—whether it’s Pebble, Plaster, or 3M Quartz—is a meticulous process. The material is applied using a pressurized spray nozzle for even coverage, followed by hand troweling to achieve a smooth, flawless finish. For pebble surfaces, an chemical wash is performed the following day to reveal the natural beauty and texture of the pebbles.
4. Pool Filling
After the new interior surface is installed, your pool will be filled with water. This process typically takes between 12 to 30 hours, depending on the pool’s size. It’s crucial to maintain a continuous flow of water until it reaches the midpoint of the waterline tile. Interrupting the filling process could lead to surface imperfections or discoloration, so we provide clear instructions to ensure optimal results.
5. System Start-Up and Chemical Balancing
Once the pool is filled, our team will add the necessary chemicals to balance the water and ensure it’s safe and clear. We’ll also start up all pumps and equipment, ensuring everything is functioning properly. During this phase, we’ll guide you through the maintenance and operation of your new equipment and surface. Light brushing of the pool surface may be required to remove any residual material from the application process.
6. Completion and
